20th–22nd June 2008 - the largest orienteering event in Norway

Friday 20th June

14:00–17:30: World Cup middle distance
17:30–20:30: Middle distance, CRAFT Cup and all other classes
18:00–20:00: Direct entry courses

Saturday 21st June

10:00–19:00: Children’s Festival
10:00–13:00: CRAFT Cup long distance chase start
11:00-15:00: Long distance for all other classes
11:00–13:00: Direct entry courses
14:00: Trail-O
14:30–16:30: World Cup, long distance with chase start
16:30–17:00: Ceremony World Cup and CRAFT Cup
16:00–20:00: Barbequeue, bonfire and entertainment at the arena

Sunday 22nd June

10:00–15:00: Children’s Festival
10:00–15:00: Relay races
10:00: Trail-O
10:00–13:00: Direct entry courses
12:00: Team competition, W/M up to 12 years

Maps and terrain

Rural surroundings with mixed woodland.

Friday: Technical orienteering with many controls and direction changes in, at times, terrain with many details and with excellent runnability. Hilly parts with open pine forest.

Saturday: At times hilly and demanding. Quite a few paths, but also areas of dense vegetation and in places poorer runnability due to rocky ground.

Sunday: Kind terrain–not too hilly and lots of paths. Good runnability, but with some felled areas of different ages (yellow/green).

The Bukkesti and Slettåsen maps are being revised and will be published in 2008.

1:10,000 and 1:15,000, 5 m contours.

Courses over 2 km: 1500 m

Shorter courses: 200 m

Saturday:

World Cup: start at the arena

Courses over 4 km: 1200 m

Shorter courses: 800 m

Prizes

Up to 12 years: All participants

13–16 years: 1/3 of competitors

17–20 years. 1/10 of competitors

Other classes: 1- 3 prizes (depending on number of competitors)

CRAFT Cup: Prizes according to own rules

Relay Races:

13–16 years: 1/3 of teams

M-Open, W-Open: NOK 5000, NOK 3000, NOK 2000 + other prizes

Veteran classes: 3 best teams

EMIT electronic punching cards. Provide card number with entry.

Card hire: NOK 30 per day.

Children’s Orienteering Festival

The Children’s O-Festival will be arranged on Saturday 21st June and Sunday 22nd June, with obstacle course, climbing wall and other exciting activities.

For children from 9 to 14 years old. Children under 9 years must be accompanied by an adult.

Entry fee:

One day: NOK 100

Two days: NOK 150

Pay at entrance.

”Little trolls” (children’s O-course): NOK 30 per day for those without a Children’s O‑Festival ticket

Trail Orienteering

Normal distance Trail-O will be arranged on Saturday and Sunday, meeting at the Siggerud arena both days.

Saturday 21st June:

13:30: Information to participants

14:00–15:00: Individual starts

Sunday 22nd June:

09:30: Information to participants

10:00: Mass start

Map: 1:5000, 5 m contours, adjusted for Trail-O 2008

Easy terrain with paths and dirt roads.

Classes both days:

Elite Class 3.0 km

A Class 2.5 km

B Class 2.0 km

N Class 1.5 km

Participants must provide their own assistant, if needed.

HC toilet at the arena

Entry fee:

Up to 16 years: NOK 60 per day

17 years and older: NOK 120 per day

Extra charge for late entry: NOK 40 / 80
